Assala's Story
This letter was written to Fatima from Assala, a graduate of our January, 2024 class.
Hello dear Fatima, I would like to thank the Be in Peace organization, which allowed me to attend the stress management program with you. At first, I was hesitant to go to the session. I said, it’s like all associations, it will be a normal session, but from the first session I attended, I noticed the difference, and I was very relieved, because in the session we talk about our real pressures. Through the sessions, my knowledge and experience increased. I loved the breathing exercise very much. It gave me comfort and focus. I started practicing it and taught it to my children at home. I became excited to attend every session. I thank you very much, Mrs. Fatima, for the information and sweet manner you gave it, and the positive energy that I took home with me after the session, and for your interest and understanding of the pressures I was going through. Fayza’s Story
Fayza, a mother of four, was suffering with the stress of poverty, and family struggles caused by their living situation in a tent camp. She always felt tired and fatigued, leading to some stress related illnesses. Emotionally, she felt helpless and frustrated because of the lack of empathy and understanding from those around her. She found herself becoming very emotional, crying, and often preferring to isolate herself from others. After Fayza attended the Be In Peace stress management program, she told us she noticed a big difference in herself, as she became aware of the reactions that were happening in her body, to the emotions that she was feeling, and realizing that she had the ability to change her negative feelings into positive feelings. She came to understand how her nervous system can deal with these feelings with the application of the heart-focused (cardiac) breathing exercises.
